A special award for creativity across all categories, personally made by Helen Hamlyn, whose Foundation has endowed the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre. The Helen Hamlyn Foundation was established in 1985 to promote better products and a better environment for older people.

Today the foundation’s interests have broadened to encompass inclusive design – practical initiatives aimed at improving quality of life for people of all ages and abilities, in collaboration with industry and the voluntary sector.
